Creative Kids, in collaboration with the El Paso Chihuahuas, has produced 40 different interpretations of the popular Chihuahua mascot. This was all achieved at Creative Kids’ Saturday Open Art Studio class at the OLO Gallery, where young art students, inspired by the works of Andy Warhol, learned how to combine traditional photography, color theory and silkscreen techniques. In this artistic process, the students applied printers’ ink in multiple layers over a compressed hardboard, then detailed each individual plate with acrylic paint to produce a finish and beautiful piece of memorable art. Now the images have been placed into product such as T-Shirts, Throw Pillows, and Travel Mugs. Find products inside the El Paso Chihuahuas Gift shop located at Southwest University Ball Park. All Proceeds to benefit the organization.
On Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at Bark at the Park, the El Paso Chihuahuas will wear an Andy Warhol – Style Jersey featuring artwork. Story is also featured on Sports Illustrated Extra Mustard (si.com/extra) .
